End of the Month

Afternoon folks,
I cannot believe this is the last day of September and I'm still wondering where all my time went. It's been a busy week for me with work taking all my time up thanks to all the new games that have been coming out, spare time as gone into sleeping and spending time with the girlfriend. I did get some time on Mists of Pandaria for the first two days it came out but not been back since, will be rectifying that in a bit by playing a session. I hit level 86 when I last left it so I'm determined today to try and get close to 87 or at least finish off the first zone, I must be close with all the quests I have done so far.

On the news of consoles I have been playing Borderlands 2 on and off, it did kinda get shelved in the week when the new expansion for Warcraft came out. But I did just do a few hours on it about ten minutes ago and now my Gunzerker is level 10. good game so far and the only down point about it was the spoiler at the start for the ending of the first game (Still not finished it yet but oh well).

I did also pick up Angry Birds like I said and I did get a few hours in on Friday with the girlfriend, controls are very easy to use and the graphics look stunning on the big screen. I am now feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of games I've got to play, especially thanks to Lovefilm sending me Lego Batman 2 for the PlayStation 3 to work on. The only good part is that I have a few weeks before the next wave of new games hit which is on the 12th October, Dishonored and the new Pokemon games.

Still not 100% on Dishonored since I keep hearing the campaign is really short so I'm in two minds to wait for a price drop in the Christmas sales or to pick it up on the day of release. The new Pokemon games are a must even though I've still not finished the first ones, maybe I should start working on them again since it continues the story. Argh! I so need more time to fit all this gaming in, I even want to work on some old titles since I know once I've finished them I would trade them in.

How about you guys? you been overwhelm with all the new games or your old games from the pile of shame?

On that note I'm going to head off and get some gaming on the go, I did update the 2012 progress stats as well finally. My new release completion percent as dropped a bit thanks to all the new stuff but I am determined to get some of the new games clocked soon, Borderlands 2 is high on my list.

New Releases Countdown
Dishonored - 13 Days to go
Pokemon White 2 and Black 2 - 13 Days to go
Assassin's Creed 3 - 31 Days to go
Assassin's Creed Liberation - 31 Days to go

Count Down

Good Morning,
Horrible morning in the UK with plenty of rain to last us the whole year but it's very good weather for gaming. I picked up Borderlands 2 on Friday like I said in the last post and yes I have played it, even shocked myself. Trying my best to not buy games just to shelve them to play later, I want to get into the routine of playing straight away. Of course that will be easier said then done since tomorrow is the launch of Mists of Pandaria and I have no doubt I be losing most of spare hours into it. Plus I want to work on some old games as well since I've got a lot to complete, in fact right now I got Borderlands on the PS3 (4 player CO-OP, very hard to get everyone on at the same time). Borderlands Xbox 360 (2 player CO-OP), Borderlands 2 (single player), Warcraft and I'm sure there is something else I have forgotten but oh well I'm busy gaming and you get the idea.

Anyway I did like the idea of the days counting down to the release when I posted up about being one day left for Borderlands 2, at first I thought about having a list on the side of the blog that I could update every day. Then I thought it would take up too much room since there is a lot of games I want, plus I thought it would be better to add it to the posts that way it gives me more of a push to post more. Plus I could talk about how excited I am for the games that are about to launch, trust me I'm like a kid at Christmas when it comes to launch days.

So to start the list of we have one day to go for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, the latest expansion to the MMO. Very excited to play this game and not sure where I will start first, I would say levelling my Druid up to 90 but I do like the look of the Monk class. Plus we have had some Megablok sets in for Warcraft so I could be building one of those first instead, decisions decisions what I will need to do first is pick up plenty of pop and snacks for my marathon session tomorrow evening.

New Releases Countdown
World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria - 1 Day to go

It's just come to me I will be getting the Collectors edition so I could do with a unboxing post showing what's inside, maybe a day or two after playing it first. Now after that the next game after that is not really a big release but it is a must have game for me, Angry Birds The Trilogy. I love this game on my iPad and phone so with it coming to the consoles it was a must buy for me. Plus achievements/trophies was a nice bonus and the girlfriend will play it with me so I have plenty of reasons to pick it up. That comes out this Friday so four days to go for that release then that's it I think until October.

New Releases Countdown
World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria - 1 Day to go
Angry Birds Trilogy - 4 Days to go

Since I'm not into sports games and horror the first part of October is quiet until the 12th when everything seems to go crazy. Dishonored is coming out on the main consoles and I do like my assassin stealth games, from everything I've seen and read it looks amazing but I have started to hear a rumour that the campaign is very short for this type of game. Slightly worried about that since as I said I'm trying to be good with my money and forking out the money for a new IP that could fail would be annoying since that money could had gone to something else. Have to check out some reviews once they up for it, hopefully someone will have a review copy before the release date.

Also on that day sees the latest instalment of Pokemon White 2 and Black 2, don't really need to give you the reason for why I'm buying it. If you don't know I'm a Pokemon fan by now then you really need to reread my blog posts. If I counted this right then it's 18 days until the 12, blimey that really is not that far away. When I think October it seems ages away but reading 18 days that's barely three weeks, dang I need to get on with some gaming.

New Releases Countdown
World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria - 1 Day to go
Angry Birds Trilogy - 4 Days to go
Dishonored - 18 Days to go
Pokemon White 2 and Black 2 - 18 Days to go

I'm going to end this post here since I want to get some time on my console, I've got plenty of time later to blog post. I will do a update on the countdown more regularly and add the rest of the 2012 releases to it as well. Anyway I will be posting again later since I want show some of the new stuff I picked up, until then have a good one folks.

One day to go

Good morning folks,
As you probably read the title you going to wonder what I mean by just one day to go, well tomorrow is the launch date for Borderlands 2 in the UK. This game to me signals the start of the huge end of year line up of game launches. Starting with tomorrow we have Borderlands 2 then next Tuesday Mists of Pandaria hits the shelves  and will be keeping me busy for a while. Saturday sees Angry Birds Trilogy coming to the main consoles as well, I'm very addicted to that game and adding achievements just screams to me to get on day one.

Goes slightly quiet for a week then it goes to hell in October and November, in fact there is one to two games a week coming out in most parts. I've had all the launches that I know of so far into my calendar and it's shocking how little time is between each one. I wonder if any of you guys have a long list of "must buy" games this year.

Anyway I need to go through some of my gaming and get some more trade-ins sorted, thinking some of the games I said I would play need to go. I did like most of the games but since doing the test posts I've not bothered with them and I don't see myself playing them this year now with all the new stuff coming out which will take up all my time. Plus it would save me some money which is always a good thing in my books.

Completely going off topic I did try out the pre-event for Mists of Pandaria (World of Warcraft) last night, well I tried to anyway since I found to my horror that my gear is too low level so the event was locked to me. I thought I could upgrade a few of my items and that would be enough to get me in but to my horror my complete set is massively out of date. It need a full brand new set which would take some time to do and since it's like five or six days to the launch it won't happen. Will miss out on the feat of strength achievement and tabard reward but oh well, my own fault for not playing properly.

This is what happens when you pile up too many games and don't give them the proper time, you miss out on a lot of stuff. Another good example is I'm working on Borderlands right now since I've never really got past level 7 before, currently playing four player co-op on the PlayStation with some mates and single player on the Xbox 360. I want the second one tomorrow but I cannot play it until I'm done which is annoying because no doubt someone will try to ruin the story for me. I know I really should wait to buy Borderlands 2 since I've not finished the first but I really want all the nice pre-order bonus items, the extra class and golden key stuff looks awesome.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So yeah not sure what else to talk about now other then I plan to play Warcraft to get a few things ready for the launch of the expansion, also work on Borderlands on the side as well. Oh yeah the Tokyo game show is currently happening and I'm seeing a lot of game announcements that I'm interested in so I will be posting about that soon so stay tuned for that. Think I will end this post now and go take a look at whats happening, see if anything else is coming out at Christmas.

Have a good one folks,

Keldeo and Genesect Events

Morning folks,
Thought it would be a good time to update the event posts since one of the Pokemon events is live and the second one was announced a few weeks back.

First up Keldeo is currently live at your local GAME and Gamestation stores, this event will run until 11th October 2012 (for other European countries check out serebii.net for information). It's a level 15 Pokemon and it's carrying the item PP Max, also it as several mini in game events.

In Black and White you can teach it the move Secret Sword by taking it to the Moors of Icirrus (must have Cobalion, Virizion and Terrakion in your party). By getting this move you can also activate Keldeo Resolute form when it's traded over to Black and White 2.

So make sure to pop in store to get this Pokemon, oh I almost forgot! you can get the Pokemon by going in store and activating Mystery gift on your game. It's downloaded through the wireless section but if it does not work check with a staff member that their cartridge is distributing because sometimes it can be forgotten to be turned on in the morning.

Genesect will not be a in store event like Keldeo since most of the rumours was pointing towards that, instead it will be just a normal Wi-fi event. So far only the dates have been confirmed and that's 12th October until 12th November 2012, this is for Black 2 and White 2 by the way and not the original games.

There we go folks two events and I will update once more information is given out for Gensect, big thanks goes out to serebii.net for keeping me up to date. If you are a Pokemon fan you should be following that site since they cover pretty much everything Pokemon. That's it for this post so have a good one folks and see you soon.

Good Morning!

How's it going folks? been a busy week again and I'm trying my best to cope with everything. Sorry that's it taking me so long to post but you know how it is when things go wrong or get busy.

Anyway enough with the excuses since I got plenty to talk about today, first up I just saw the blog as hit 8,000 pageviews!! very happy gamer here right now. Thank you ever so much to everyone who read my posts, without you guys this blog would had closed a long time ago. It amazes me to see that I have readers from all around the world, so again thank you.

I've finally spent a few minutes updating the stats page for 2012 and I'm happy to say a few more competitions was added to the list. Finished Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 on hard with my mate and I'm now working on the last few achievements to get the full 1,000 gamerscore. Also finished Spec Ops the Line the other day which was amazing, the story is really good but there are few minor things that got on my nervous. Still it's a game I would recommend to anyone to play and I'm going to be working on my second play through so I can get the full 1,000 gamerscore in that as well.

Still got plenty of games I'm currently working, right now on the weekends I'm playing on my Vita with Dynasty Warriors Next and Gravity Rush. I did start cleaning up the treasure hunting on Uncharted Golden Abyss as well but not done that since I've been back from my holiday. Also I'm still trying to get sessions on Warcraft to get ready for Mists of Panadaria, running out of time so I need to sort out a big session for that. It's going to be a interesting week and especially next week starting the launches of with Borderlands 2.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh that reminds me what did you guys think of the Wii U presentation?

After watching the videos I do want one and I am impressed with the console, it looked amazing and some of the games sold it to me. ZombieU was one of the shockers for me since I'm not a horror fan yet I loved the look of it, my character dieing and becoming a Zombie that I have to kill. Also the fact it will cause problems for my friends as well was a brilliant idea. Only problem I got with it is the date and price, seriously Christmas time and over £300!! what the hell!. I've placed an order but to be honest right now I'm going to wait and not get it on launch, I just cannot afford it since so much is already coming out that I want.

If anything I can see it being like the 3DS and a price drop appearing several months later, it would not shock me if it happens in the January sales or the week of Christmas. You will spend £300 on the console then it's £40/50 for one game, I can name about 4-5 games I want from the launch alone. Then lets not forget there is also a ton of games launching around the same time.

What about you my readers? will you be getting one on launch or will you will and see what happens with the price. What would be nice if they did a price drop before launch, I would be very tempted if the Premium was around £250/260 but don't think that will happen.

On that note I'm going to go get some gaming done so I have a good one folks and I will see you soon.

How I Hate You September

Yes that's right, I currently cannot stand September right now and it's because the last week of the month is flooded with so much new stuff I have no idea what to do. I'm not just talking about gaming either, new TV shows start, new book releases etc I swear every day I'm finding something else coming out that week.

So it started with Borderlands 2 coming out on the 21st which I know is not the last week but it's like the opening act to the show. Currently I have the loot chest edition on order (yes the big £100 edition) but I think I will be cancelling that soon since I don't think I can afford all this. Anyway shortly after they announced the new expansion for World of Warcraft is coming out on the 25th, the following Tuesday so I barely have several days with Borderlands before I be sucked back into Warcraft. Of course another special edition but this time it's a must buy, already my wallet is crying at the thought of this.

Then last week it was announced one of my favourite book series is getting a new volume but it's a collector edition one, limited copies and very expensive (slams head on desk). This will be coming out on the 27th although I did hear they might be pushing the date back, of course if that happens it would probably fall into the October release window which would be worse.

Ok that's three items, the fourth was announced two days ago when the achievement list went up for it. Angry Birds the trilogy is coming to the Xbox 360 (cheer), at the time of the list going up it was America only but yesterday a date was posted for the UK and can you guess when? yup the 28th. I love Angry Birds and it's one of my favourite games so now it's coming to the consoles with achievements I'm happy, ohhhh just saw the PlayStation 3 version on GAME.co.uk. Wonder if that will be getting trophy support.

Last thing that I know that is coming out that week which won't be expensive is the new seasons for my favourite shows airing. Simpsons and Family guy on the 30th, American Dad also is coming out on the 30th. How I Met Your Mother on the 24th and finally Big Bang Theory on the 27th so that's a lot less time gaming.

And that's it folks as far as I am aware so I'm pretty much book solid for the entire week then let's not forget we go into October which is probably full of nice new games like Dishonored and Assassin's Creed 3. You know what I really could do with a list of everything coming out this year that I want because I have no clue right now. Anyway that's it for this post and I have put below a nice little chart of the week.

Friday 21st - Borderlands 2
Saturday 22nd -
Sunday 23rd -
Monday 24th - How I Met Your Mother
Tuesday 25th - World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria
Wednesday 26th -
Thursday 27th - New book, Big Bang Theory
Friday 28th - Angry Birds Trilogy
Saturday 29th -
Sunday 30th - Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad

Is it a busy week for you too my readers?

I'm Back

Evening folks,
Well my holiday is been over for nearly a week and this is the first real time I've had to myself, seriously been stressed out and I've been run off my feet all week. Just nice to have a few minutes to unwind and I would like to say do some gaming as well since the only thing I've done this week was the Batman Event. Think my consoles have forgotten what a game is at this point.

Anyway yeah guys I'm back and hopefully will be posting more regularly again, I've got a lot planned that I want to do with the blog still. There are ton of games about to come out so no doubt there be lots of gaming posts soon plus I am currently thinking about doing a second blog. Don't really want to go into any details just yet about it since it really is just a thought right now, but who knows what the future could hold.

So what are the plans for rest of the week in the ways of gaming you ask? well I have no idea, actually no that's a lie. World of Warcraft just had the pre patch for the new expansion so lots of changes have happened so I could do with jumping on that to see what's happened. Plus in a week or so the pre-event will go live and I need to be used to my new skills/talents so I can take on what ever they throw at me.

Apart from that I'm not really sure since I've still got Spec Ops rented that needs finishing, plus a second play through to get the rest of the achievements. I did start Gravity Rush while I was on holiday and my god that game is awesome, think I did the first eight levels and I found it hard to put it down. Plus I think I've got a few more games sitting on the side I want to play and I need to keep in mind new releases.

Yeah I think I need a battle plan for all this but for now I'm going to go and chill for a while, I need a break.

Last Calendarman Event

Sorry for the late post folks but only just got back off my holiday last night then had to rush to work this morning. Anyway today is Calendarman event in Batman Arkham City and if you purchased the game on the launch day then the achievement/trophy should pop up when you speak to him (as long as you been doing all the events every month).

Not sure how to do this event? you can find Calendarman in his cell below the court house, access can be found through the back door outside. Just speak to him on the specific days to hear a tale and once he's done just load a save point before quiting (save point loads up when you open the back door).

All the dates can be found circled on the wall calendar next to his cell, when you done a specific day the month will be scribbled out the next time you visit.

Anyway I just got my achievement and trophy so I'm a happy gamer, just need to do two more months for the PC version since it was released late.

Fun Sunday Evening

Good Morning,
Yesterday I had a blast playing World of Warcraft pretty much all evening, I started the day with doing the most dangerous job in the world. Yes I was doing the cleaning under the bed, the things I saw under there. Anyway after a long ass day of tiding I really wanted to play some MMO's but I never got around to the Old Republic. I spent around three to four hours on my main Druid then about an hour on my new character.

Happy to say I got him up one level (seven) then nearly hit level eight, plus I got off the starting little island and now on the main island. Not long now before the area is done and I can join the main world finally, pick up my professions and start levelling them.

Anyway back to playing my main druid character, I had a blast and it was so much fun. Basically my plan was to finish levelling up my main leatherworker profession since I was on 503/525 with several hundred leather in the bank. It turned out a lot harder then I though since I forgot I needed to turn the leather into heavy leather first since all my recipes required that, for those that don't play Warcraft five leather makes just one heavy leather. So you can imagine that several hundred leather vanished quite quickly, I got up to 510 and I'm now stuck. I've got a guide that is showing me what's the best recipes to level up with but I need a ton of leather, I think I found a nice place to kill creatures and last night I did get 25 leather in about ten to twenty minutes. I will have to continue another night this week and maybe I can hit the max.

Levelling up my profession was not the only thing I was doing, I did a ton of quests in two zones and was really enjoying the story again. Plus I did go to the main PVP zone Tol Barad to do the daily quests there, I found out the faction that is based there as two mounts and a pet that I can buy from them. Need commendations from quest rewards to buy them but the problem is we talking like 400+ and only get 6 a day, plus the mobs there hit very hard to the point I'm healing after every fight and praying I don't get two mobs on me.

It was a great night and I'm getting ready for the expansion, I realised I got a lot more to do then I though. Levelling up my last professions, clear out my bags, need bigger bags since I never upgraded to the latest ones in Cataclysm. Plus I need to clear out my quest log ready to pick up all the nice new quests.

I do always want to get some more characters up to try out the other classes, plus there is a killing to be made on the auction house with the profession materials. Seriously they charging a fortune for leather and there is only two people selling, maybe make some profession alts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enough with the MMO night it's time to talk about my plans for this week, well not too much since I should be going on holiday this Sunday. I do have Spec Ops from Lovefilm so you might catch me playing that this week and I do want to put some more time into Warcraft and Old Republic. Saving my handheld games to take with me on Holiday for the night's and the trip there and back. So yeah that's it for me folks, I hope you had a good laugh on the weekend as well. Drop me a line with what you did I'm always up for hearing about it.

New Record

Morning Folks,
Thought I would get a quick general post up before work but just as I was about to click the new post button I noticed my archive list on the right of the blog. As of the last post I have done 165 posts this year which is a new record for me, last year was the best record with 155 for the year which beat both 2009 and 2010 put together. So to say I've beaten 2011 by ten posts and still got several months before the year ends, well I'm very happy.

Would had been a lot higher if I had done my posts on E3 but lessons learnt, next time I'm going to do the HUB right and have all posts as soon as I can. I don't want to be a news site but I want to talk about the latest announces that excite me, so yeah I will aim to do better and same for any other conferences as well.

Anyway back to the point, woot! very happy about the post count. So not much to talk about sorry to say after that since I've not really done any gaming this week. I did try out my new rental game which I was shocked to get, Tornado Outbreak. It was on my list as reserved and could not be sent because they had no stock, but some how they found some and sent it me. I love getting quick easy achievements but I'm at that stage that I really do not want to give the time of day to rubbish games anymore, so barely a few minutes in it came out the disk tray and back into an envelope to be posted back today.

Hopefully they will send me something better next time, anyway my goal for this week is start the fourth pile of games that I pulled out a few days back. Well not just start but try out everything so that is sorted so I can finally get back into normal gaming. I'm holding off playing anything until I finish trying out my old games, works out better in the end when I have more space and bit extra cash as well.

Speaking of games I don't know about you guys but me for "it" as started, when I say "it" I mean the mad rush leading up to Christmas. This week Sleeping Dogs and New Super Mario Bros 2 is out then on Tuesday Darksiders 2, then we hit September which is packed with loads of games. Hell I've even seem Christmas Cards up for sale in my local card shops, madness. Hoping I can cut back this year and spend less, got too much stuff already to play and most of the time when I buy loads they never get played.

Anyone else the same ?
~Iznic

P.S. Feck just remembered the Wii U is out this year and I might get it, well I think it's out this year

Gamescom: Star Wars 1313

It's Gamescom 2012 currently right now so just like at E3 there are plenty of trailers and information going around right now. This trailer is the new extended version of what we saw at E3, say hello to the new darker themed Star Wars game.

How awesome was that! I really thought that Level 1313 would be just a level, you know a few floors grouped together. But an entire underground city was not on my thoughts, I am seriously psyched to play this game and to see the other side of Star Wars. No lightsabres but blasters and the dark underbelly of the universe.

I'm hoping so more information or footage will be released soon because I want to know what kind of arsenal will be using, also what's the back story for the game. Are we hunting doing a dangerous target, or multiple targets, oh man this game is going to be so epic.

Got it replaying again while I'm writing this, it's just that good and look at the assassin droids leading the assault. Now that's an action game but I do have to agree with my friend, this looks like a next generation console game. Although it could be this current, look at how amazing Assassins Creed 3 is right now.

Anyone else excited about this game and going to get it? it's day one for me that's for sure.

August Batman Arkham Event

Evening folks,
I almost missed it again but thank god for my calendar reminder, so yeah tomorrow is the Calendar Man event in Batman Arkham City.

Not sure what I'm talking about? well there is a trophy/achievement for Arkham City where you visit the Villain Calendar Man twelve times in the year (once a month) to listen to a tale from him. You can find him locked up in the court house, enter the court house from the back entrance and go down the stairs.

Just speak to him and listen to his tale then that's it, once you have heard his tale make sure to get a save point (exit the court house, the door is a save point).

There is a wall calendar next to his cell with all the dates circled, once you done one of the dates in the future that month should be scribbled out. Don't panic if it is not scribbled out after talking to him, it usually takes a day for it to happen (real time).

So that is it folks and don't forget to visit him tomorrow!

Plenty of Pokemon Events

Morning Folks,
Something I've been meaning to post up for a few weeks now is there are currently several Pokemon events running, plus more events to come as well.

Keldeo
First up is the Keldeo event that as been announced for Pokemon Black and White, for the UK you can get it from GAME & Gamestation from September 1st 2012 until October 11th 2012. No mention how you get it from these stores but time will tell, also waiting for information it will be like the Japanese version which when it's traded over to Black 2 and White 2 it will activate it's resolute form.

It also says other parts of Europe will be getting the event but no confirmation yet on who, so sorry folks but keep an eye out for it.

If you live in America Gamestop as you covered from August 27th 2012 to October 6th 2012, it as been confirmed when traded that it can change to the resolute form. Also if you take it to Moor of Icirrus it will learn Secret Sword, that's in Black and White by the way.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's the upcoming event out of the way now on to what is happening right now. On the Pokemon Global Link site you can get a Crustle C-Gear using the password CRUSTLECGEAR2012, this the English versions only. Then there is another C-Gear to celebrate the World Championship with, it ends on September 6th so make sure to get it soon as possible. Password is WCSCGEAR2012 for this event.

Next is the Porygon 2 decor item for your house in the Global Link, there is no passwords for this item just click the promotion and you will get it. Still plenty more to talk about, next is the Porygon-Z C-Gear and the password is PORYZCGEAR2012.

Finally there is a actual Porygon for your game to download off the Global Link as well, password is PORYEUROGAMERNET. Of course this is for Pokemon Black and White and no idea on the dates sorry but do it soon as you can.

So that's it folks for Pokemon today, huge massive thanks to Serebii.net for the passwords and reminders of the events. If you are a fan of Pokemon then you need to be following this website a lot since every event is on there with plenty of information about every game.

The Clean Up 3.0 (Part Three)

So where was I? oh yeah I just finished Tropico and I have just one more Xbox game to go. This time it's the RPG "Resonance of Fate", a "Blazing cinematic gun battle RPG" hmm there is not much on the back of the box to describe the story other then its a post apocalyptic steampunk-style machine world. Guess the only way to find out about the game is to jump right on in.

I have no idea what to think about this game, no clue is offered about the story in the opening two trailers and I was pretty much thrown into the game. I took up a job that I found at the "Guild" to fix a bridge so I can leave the city, for what purpose I do not know but I could not find the bridge. I did find a exit out of the city to the world map which is a huge hexagon grid style where I could move a cursor around but was not able to select the broken bridge. Next thing I know I'm in arena fighting with no clue on how to fight, I died quite quickly even though I pressed pretty much every button on the controller. It's slightly turned based and real time at the same time, what was worst I had to buy myself back into the game. This time I found the attack button which could only be used once this meter was finished when aiming, I won the fight and unlocked two achievements.

Overall my thoughts on this game is "Very confusing", I feel like I've been thrown into the deep end and left to it. It could be an ok game but it's got a bad start so personally I don't see myself playing this any time so it's going to the trade in pile, maybe one day in the future I will give it another try.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was the last of the Xbox games so all that is left now is the three RPG games on the PlayStation, personally I don't think I will have problem with these but then I said that about Dr Lautrec on the 3DS. So I'm going to start with Rune Factory Oceans which is a game very similar to Harvest Moon but with fighting monsters added to the game, well that's what I was told by some fans anyway.

I'm about ten minutes into the game and so far it's just story, from the looks two friends where taking a normal every day walk in the woods where they see a bright light that is some kind of portal. Next thing they know they seem to be in the future, well it's hinted at that but not confirmed. The lad is fine but the girl is trapped inside his body, people can hear her talk and that's it. From the look's it will take a while before the game play really get's into it but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and put it to the keep pile. I want to play this game quite soon anyway so if the game play does not meet my expectations then I will trade it in.

So two to go and the next one should not be hard, Disgaea 4 which was the game with the huge update. I did play a little of the third one which is currently sitting on my shelf, well it was but I cannot see it now (little worried where it is). It's an old school style turned based RPG set on a grid and the levelling is insane, highest level is 9999. Graphics are anime style with the old school avatars on the grid, looks very cool but I never really give it the time of day since I know it's a game that can take a while.

The game is set in the nether worlds where demons, angels etc roam and well I don't know, the back of the box does not really explain what's going on. Just looks awesome and talks about strategy and hours of sleepless nights and grinding.

Oh good lord! starts of with telling a story about man kind fearing the darkness until they feared themselves more because of all the errors they cause (terrorism, famine, wars etc) so it's this story is about a group of heroes fighting back. So I'm assuming we going to play the so called darkness and make people fear them again.

The game then opens up with a vampire talking about blood, fangs going into the skin then reveals him eating sardines! lmao why? because they full of nutrients like omega-3. Cannot help but chuckle, I like games like this that are just silly for the fun of it and not trying to be serious about anything.

Just going to skip the story cutscene so I can try out some of the gameplay, the cell shaded graphics are very nice.

Well I just did a demo battle and I loved it, the grid system is easy to use and it's like pretty much any other RPG games so yes it's being added to the keep pile. So all that's left now is Atelier Rorona which is also done by NIS America, I don't know anything about this game since I just bought it on a whim since it was a anime style RPG.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really should look into the games that I'm buying, well no that is a lie since I do now but in the past if I liked the cover I would sometimes just buy it. Anyway back of the box talks about exploring hazardous regions looking for treasure, using the immense alchemy system to increase your popularity... hang on what? why would I want to be popular?.

Ok the story summary on the box talks about an alchemy workshop coming to the kingdom which brought it out of poverty but after years the popularity of the workshop as declined so the workshop as now got to complete a series of challenges to stay open or face banishment. That's a bit harsh since they did save the kingdom original, but now I'm not so sure about the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After skipping nearly ten minutes of talking I'm about to start my first alchemy experiment, I did read some of the story chat and I got to say this looks promising. Need to finish assignments for the kingdom every few months over three years, need to gather resources and collect recipes to improve your knowledge. Reminds me a lot of Innocent Life (PSP version of Harvest Moon) in a way, anyway going to make my item and blimey this can be complicated.

Time takes to make, items can also effect how it turns out, quality, effects, ok this game is going to the keep pile. From the looks there might be a attack system as well since in my book is a chapter for attack and support potions, plus screen shots on the back of the box show the fight system.

So that's it folks for the third pile of games, three of the eight are being trade in while the rest will go back to the shelf for the time being. Hopefully soon I will be posting about playing them, Anyway yes there will be a fourth pile coming soon, once I've gone through my collection but I can already see a few games I need try.

Until then I'm going to take a break and I hope you all enjoy your weekend, hmm BBQ time me thinks!

The Clean Up 3.0 (Part Two)

Afternoon,
Took a lot longer to get this pile started but it is now finally happening, last time I attempted to start this pile I got hit with a 2.7GB update which took all night to download and install. This time I'm going to start with the Xbox games instead and do the PlayStation ones last just in case something comes up again.

First up will be Wartech Senko Ronde which is a Japanese anime mech fighting game sorta like Zone of the Enders if I can remember right, been a few years since I picked it up. The back of the box looks like Zone of the Enders anyway but time will tell.

What the hell! it's a fighting game as in one on one with health bars, you know Tekken/Street Fighter style but uses mechs instead. The Combat sort reminds me of the side scrollers in a way but I hate these type of games, so no guess where this game is going. Very unhappy with myself for not testing this game before and not noticing on the back of the box the health bars.

Next up is Rage which I was in two minds about at GAMEFest last year, let's see if I can get a better impression this time around (Picked up the game cheap in the January sales).

RAGE - Image thanks to Rage.com

So all I remember of this game was it's a first person shooter set in a ruined earth style world with mutants and some kind of army not liking me. Will give you the run down of the story from the back of the game box.

"After an asteroid impacts Earth, humanity attempts to rebuild. Sheltered in cryogenic lifeboats, survivors emerge years after impact to a devastated planet where some of mankind survived in struggling settlements or murderous bandit clans, while horrific mutants roam the dead cities. And a mysterious tyrannical government is on the hunt... for you"

Sounds good but will have to see how the game turns out, as I said at GAMEFest the demo did not really jump out at me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Very impressed with the game with what I played at the start, it's basically a shooter with rpg elements so inventory, quests etc so yes like Fallout but more heavily on the shooter side. Good game and what I played was a lot better then that demo so I will be keeping this game. Going to try Wolfenstein next since shooters are easy to try out and quicker, not a big fan of horror but I use to play Wolfenstein 3D and Return to Castle Wolfenstein a long time ago.

Opening cinematic as a super spy escaping off a German boat then use a supernatural medallion he finds to vapourise the soldiers. He escapes and now is being sent to find the origins of this medallion which of course is in Germany, not so sure about this story it's not gripping me so far. Hopefully the game play is better although I got feeling maybe it won't.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I was wrong after all, it's not a bad shooter after all and I do like my first person shooters. I think the real test will be when I get further into the game and hit the supernatural parts, but for now I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and keep it. Going to jump onto Tropico 3 next which should be interesting, I do like my simulator type games but never really played anything like this. I play more stuff like Age of Empires, Command and Conquer and so on. To be honest I had forgot that I even owned this game and I remember looking into the fourth one around Christmas time.

I'm half way through the tutorial and I'm bored, it's not a bad game but just not interested in it at all. It's city building and I prefer city building with armies and having fun exploring, Settlers to name one series or Civilisation. Anyway it's going into the trade in pile to join Wartech, so I'm going to end this post now since it's got quite long and finish off the last few games on a second post.

Hope you all enjoying these posts, catch you soon

Things Can Only Get Better

Morning folks,
You probably all noticed that nothing happened on Friday and Saturday like I had promised, well I had some terrible news on Friday afternoon so all my plans was cancelled. Don't really want to talk about it other then I'm not getting back on with the things I need to do, so yeah sorry for the delay. I will be catching up with some small jobs around my room first then I will jump back on the wagon and finish off the third pile of games I've got sitting next to my bed.

Later on tonight I've got a couple of other posts I will be putting up as well, just need to sort a few things before I do. Trying to think what else I've got to report to you guys, hmm oh yeah I finished the story on Lego Batman and just doing the collectible stuff now. Last night I finished the Justice League arena levels which where hard, seriously annoying hard but I do jump with joy when the two gold trophies appeared at the end. I will be reviewing that game in the next few days so again keep your eye's open for that as well.

That's it really for this post, it was just another post to say I've not forgotten you guys but things beyond my control cancelled everything. I hope all of you are having a good weekend and I will catch up with you later,

Not to Plan

Morning folks,
Sorry about the lack of posts but thing's came up that kept me busy, seems I've woken up to Blizzard being hacked and that was not how I wanted to start my day. Seriously why do people do this, seems the EU only had e-mail compromised but still going to go change all the passwords in a minute.

Apart from that bad news it's been great the last few days since the last post, first up the patch finally downloaded and installed on it's second attempt (error message on the first). Took an over night download to get it done in the end, so I will be trying out the games again this evening as long as nothing comes up.

While the patch was downloading I did some MMO gaming and man was it great, first up I jumped onto Warcraft to play my main druid character. The Darkmoon monthly faire was running so I did a few quests and bing! achievement unlocked for archaeology, I just hit the 300 mark in it's progress. For those that don't play WOW each profession as stages that you can learn up to then you have to get trained in the advance version, max is 525 right now (until Pandaria). Since I need to get my character sorted for the new expansion, profession levelling is one of the things I need to do. I was chuffed to see I had hit 300 since it takes forever to level archaeology, plus with hitting 300 I can now go to Outland and do new dig sites.

Anyway when that popped up I thought I would check to see how the other professions are, Fishing done, First Aid done and Cooking done so only archaeology was left in the secondary sets (each play can have two main professions and as many secondary professions as they want). My character is leatherworker and skinner for his mains, skinning was max before I even hit max level and I found out I'm only 500/525 on leatherwork. Must had been working on it in the past so very happy with that, plus I got 600+ leather sitting on my alt character.

So all I need to do with my druid is level up leatherwork, archaeology and clear out space in his inventory. Oh yeah I also need to clear some of the quests out of my journal to make space ready for the new ones. Not as bad as I thought it was and nearly forgot my mate put some more game time onto his account, good news for me since he was using a scroll of resurrection from me which means I get the new special spectral mount.

How cool is that!? was doing a little happy dance when I realised I had finally got it. I did not do much with my new Shaman character, think I did one more level so he's now level six and that was it. I was pushing for time and really want to play some Star Wars so I jumped over, had some fun there as well. Did some quests and a group quest which was great, grouped up with another bounty hunter and Sith to take some rebels down. Really want to play a Sith since the lightsabre animations look so cool, want to play a Jedi as well.

That was it for my MMO night and I had a blast, just need to get some more time on them both though hopefully this weekend but we will see.

Apart from that I did some gaming yesterday on Lego Batman 2 for the Vita, it's OK but not great still got plenty of problems but I will review it soon. Really stuck on the Justice area challenges so might need to look up what I'm doing wrong since I'm getting very frustrated with it.

Last thing my Nintendo Club leaf trophy arrived yesterday and I was over the moon with it, was a bit worried it would be cheap looking but as you can see by the picture it turned out great. I was a little disappointed to find out the shell trophy went up the day after I ordered this but no regrets, it's going to sit next my Old Republic statue soon.

Anyway that's it folks for now, I will catch up with you all later so have a good one!

Delays

Evening,
Well I'm assuming you are probably wondering where the post is with my progress getting through the latest batch of games, there is a delay thanks to an update for the second game. 3GB update to be more specific and my PS3 as decided that it needs an estimated time of 232 minutes, don't think that time is accurate because it's not changed since the start and it is now 15% done. Still going to be a while before I get on with the list though, so I thought I would get this post up to say sorry but I don't think the third pile will be done tonight at this rate.

On the other hand I did play a bit of Lego Batman on the Vita and I've finally set up my Vita grip, amazing accessory so far but I want more time using it. I will post up a review for it in fact at a later date once I've used it more.

Anyway I'm going to go jump into Warcraft or Star Wars for the rest of the evening, I know it won't help with the download of the update but I really don't care right now. The Darkmoon Faire is on in WOW so going to jump on my main character for a bit and do some of the quests there, then start to get my character ready for the expansion. Jump on my new Goblin character since I need to get all the pets out of the mail from the collector editions, then depending on time Star Wars with some levelling.

So have a good one folks and hope you all playing something awesome,
~Iznic

The Clean Up 3.0

Morning,
So I've had a nice long break yesterday evening/night so I'm ready to go this morning, once again I've been digging through my collection and put together another pile. Personally I think I might have one or two more piles of games after this, a lot of the other games I have tried before so I know they good. After the clean up is done then it's onto completing these games to make space, I would say there are few where once I've completed them I would trade them in.

Third pile is slightly small this time compared to the last two but that's because I have put in quite a few RPG's this time around, plus it's much more easier to manage smaller piles at a time. This time around the collection contains:

  • RAGE (Xbox 360)
  • Tropico 3 (Xbox 360)
  • Rune Factory Oceans (PlayStation 3)
  • Wartech (Xbox 360)
  • Disgaea 4 (PlayStation 3)
  • Atelier Rorona The Alchemist of Arland (PlayStation 3)
  • Wolfenstein (Xbox 360)
  • Resonance of Fate (Xbox 360)
Small fact to know that six of the eight games are still sealed in the factory wrapper, I think there will be a lot more keeps in this pile compared to last time. So I think it's time I got on with some gaming so I will catch you all later with the posts updating my progress, before I go though I am curious if anyone else as been inspired to go through their collections?

Taking A Break

Good Morning Readers,
Well I know the first pile of games was not posted up yesterday evening and that was because I took a break. Over the last week I've been stressing a lot and on Monday I was not well so I'm trying to chill, last night I just wanted a few hours break from everything. It was nice just to chill and read a book, watch some South Park and I even started my rental game. My plan worked and Lovefilm did send me Lego Batman 2 for the Vita, so far the game play/levels look and feel better then Harry Potter. They still got the horrible cut scenes again because they ported over badly, makes me cringe thinking that the Vita can do so much better.

Anyway I've got the games picked for the third clean up post ready so I will be doing the introduction post in a bit but first I wanted to get this general post up. Might take a breather later from the clean up and play on my MMO's since I'm still wasting money on them right now and I do actually want to play them. Apart from that I think that is everything I wanted to say, oh wait they did just realise the new multiplayer trailer for Black Ops 2 and it does look awesome.

But I did say the same about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and I've still not got around to playing the multiplayer, I've still got the pre-order packs sitting on the side unused and no doubt the codes for the xp bonuses no longer work. I do have a deposit down on this game so if I am going to get it I really need to give the multiplayer ago this time around, need to get back onto Battlefield 3 as well since I've only done one match.

Hmmm need more time, just not enough in the day/week/month/year for my liking. So I better get on with my day since I do have work in a bit, as I said at the start the plan is continue the clean up, maybe get some time on the MMO's and hopefully do a little more on Lego Batman. Think that's a good plan for the day, what you guys up to? anything good?
