Morning folks,
Plenty to talk about this morning since yesterday was full of news, of course one of the biggest was the Call of Duty rumour leak which you can find on a separate post. First let's talk about the Xbox, well they have finally confirmed the 21st May date for the reveal of the next Xbox.
Need to look up the times for the UK since so far I've been given 3pm and 6pm, so not sure how they got those times. Anyway it's interesting word play with the "New generation" and not "Next generation" so I do wonder what they got up their sleeve. I was wondering though why do this announce so close to E3 when they could just wait the few weeks and do it then.
Well I'm not wondering no more because after the invite was sent out Major Nelson posted on the Xbox blog some details, link can be found here. This conference will cover the console and talk about the future then E3 will continue with more information and the games line up. So looks like Xbox E3 conference will be heavily software this year.
Not surprising since if you think about it every developer will be getting their current generation games out so they can switch over to next generation. Next generation launch lines up and future releases will be shown, so this years E3 could be amazing and probably kill my bank balance.
So anyway mark your calendars for that date and keep your eyes peeled to see what Microsoft have up their sleeve but now lets change the topic to Nintendo. Not sure what to think at this time about them, it was posted up they failed to hit their income target and that they had another annual loss. Wii U sales world wide not looking good and being one of the main reasons. But anyway I'm not here to talk about targets, money etc. what really shocked me and made my jaw drop this morning was they announced no E3 presentation this year.
Instead Nintendo Direct is doing it's job to communicate new information and that they will do a few smaller events around the time of E3 instead. Since this year for them it will be new software and not hardware it seems it be too much money to waste on a big event. Which in a way I could understand completely but it is still shocking to see Nintendo take a step back. Anyway the full details can be found over on MCV here. I've got my fingers crossed for some awesome games this year for the 3DS and Wii U. Really don't want to see losing Nintendo, they not my all time favourite console but I love the DS and 3DS.
Anyway that's it for news today folks and I'm off to work so catch you all later,
~Iznic
