2012 and 2013

Afternoon folks,
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas yesterday and still enjoying the holidays, I'm currently sitting on my new double bed and pretty much chilling. Not done much gaming yet but I will be making up for that in a bit with some Lego Lord of the Rings.

I thought that before I got stuck into anything it might be a good idea to get a blog post up since the the last few months have been a bit quiet. So this post is all about the new year that's coming up and my thoughts about 2012, I was going to begin with talking about my plans for the new year but I have none. A work friend the other day asked me what my goals would be for the year and I really had no clue, maybe match the same amount games I completed this year. I just don't know so I was thinking that if I write down what I thought was good and bad about this year I could come up with my goals for the new year, sounds like a solid plan right?.

Going to start off with a bad for this year gone and that was the backlog of games, I still have quite a few games from 2011 and longer still not touched. I really wanted to play Oblivion and Skyrim this year and it did not see any day light, Skyrim as had several new DLC packs that look amazing and I still did not make the time. In fact I think some of the DLC is going on the winter sale any day now so I really could do with actually dusting this disc box off and getting stuck in. There are other games as well like the past Dynasty Warriors that are still waiting to be finished off, I've also still not completed a Japanese RPG yet! and I really wanted to finish Final Fantasy XIII this year. So I think that will be a goal this year and it's too get through my back log of games before it gets any more worse.

I'm pleased with myself for completing a good chunk of the new releases this year but I'm still going into 2013 with a lot not finished yet or even touched. So I know this will be a tough goal but I want all my 2012 purchases completed by the end of next year. Reason I say this will be tough is because the start of the year is like Christmas 2 with the line up then there is the possibility of a next generation consoles being launched at the end of the year so 2013 is going to be busy.

You know what, this is my goals for the new year...

1. Do not let the back log get any bigger, new games can only be bought if an old game is completed (story at the least).
2. Play multiplayer more

That's my goals and I think that would be a good way to stop me over spending, actually laughing at myself right now because I doubt I will stick to it. But it would be good if I can resist buying new games until I finished old ones, would save money and it would get rid of the pile of shame that I've created over the years. The second goal is there because I barely play multiplayer anymore and I keep saying I will but something always comes up, I need to make more time since I got gears of war still to work on, COD and Battlefield. By the way I will probably have more goals but right now I cannot think of any and to be honest I want to enjoy games for what they are, not turn gaming into a chore.

Anyway on that note I'm going to go play some games and yes I will update the 2012 gaming progress page soon since I do have more completed games to add. Give me a shout if you have any goals yourself for next year, until then have a good one folks.

Too Many Games For Christmas

It's been a while since I've posted here but with my main PC still down it's hard to update. Also I'm doing very long shifts thanks to working in retail and so my routine right now is "sleep, wake, eat, work, eat, sleep and repeat". Anyway I thought I would get a quick update in while I wait for my PlayStation 3 to do a small download (which will take forever, what is with this console and downloads).

From the title of the post I bet you can guess what I'm going to write about today, yup I spent way too much on games again and even though last week was the last of the big releases I still ended up buying two more games today thanks to the deal of the weeks at work. PlayStation all stars for £19.99 is a joke plus it's the cross play one as well, so I get a copy of the Vita version as well included for no extra cost. The second game was the Mass Effect Trilogy for the PlayStation 3 which finally arrived instore today since it missed the launch last week, just one copy arrived in so I took that as a sign to get it. So want to see what I picked up this quarter so far then take a look below in the picture I took, minus off the PlayStation Vita in the top left corner. (I say so far since you never know with all these bargains keep popping up, although my budget is getting tighter and tighter every minute).

Not a bad haul really and I got plenty to keep me going for the time being but the 2013 releases will be starting quite quickly after the new year, in fact I'm sure Ni No Kuni is the end of January. Then I'm sure February and March are packed with plenty of new releases, bring on Christmas 2.0!

Well I'm going to end it on this note mostly because it's 11.32pm and PlayStation All Stars is calling, I want to at least try out one match before bed. Would like to do some Professor Layton as well but I know I be too tired to even think about it, plus work again in the morning. I really need to come up with a device to stop time so I can catch up. Hope you all having a good time and you been enjoying all the new games, drop a line with what you got!
