Pokemon Moon & Sun Announced

Morning readers,

Very late getting this post out but some things came up which could not be helped. So the Pokemon Direct happened on Friday and it was a bit of anti-climactic in my book concerning the announcement. 

 

So Pokemon Moon & Sun are real, its 100% happening so the leak was true and this is great. But we saw nothing really at all about the games from the trailer that was aired, it was nice seeing some old memories but only getting a few seconds of concept art was the wrong way to go.

Only real thing we know is this is a new generation thanks to how they showed it off in the trailer. They went through all the generations and years released then announced Moon and Sun for this year.

Guess we going to have to wait and see what CoroCoro shows off and probably the E3 Nintendo Direct. Concept art looks good; well what bits they did show anyway. Really hoping the graphics are getting closer to a full console release because we need that to happen.

Pre-E3 Announcements Part Two

Afternoon gamers,
It's time for another update although I will warn you that I am really tired right now, lack of sleep and having to get up early for yesterdays expo (UK Games Expo - Board/Card/Dice Games) has left me needing some sleep. So I thought before I try to do some gaming today that it would be a good idea to do a blog post or two, catch you up with my gaming and of course talk about the latest announcements.

So welcome to the second part of my Pre-E3 Announcements posts, in the first one I talked about Batman Arkham Knight, Farcry 4, Halo 5 and a possible HD collection for the Halo series (post can be found here). To start this post off I thought I would begin with the latest announcement and go with the new Lego Batman 3 game. We all knew there would be a new Lego game this year and possibly be even two but it was a guessing game. I'm still holding out that they will do a Lego Simpsons game which would be my game of the year if they did it (please please please make it!!!) but anyway last week the Lego Batman twitter account started teasing some pictures. Didn't take too long to work out it would be a new Lego Batman game but the real question was what would the story be. Still early days but check out the trailer below and it seems to be we going into space and if you listen careful you can hear the Joker laughing, really thought we would have the Lantern Corp. storyline or something but oh well still going to be great.



Guess we should expect to see more at this E3 which is only a week away now! seriously shocked how fast time does fly. So with Lego out of the way let's talk about the latest leaked game and that's Battlefield Hardline. It's a shame this got leaked because I don't think anyone would had seem this game coming. Hardline is cops vs. robbers with the Battlefield engine, it will have a singleplayer campaign that will act like a TV episode show with cliff hangers at the end of levels. Multiplayer looks intense with bank robbies, hostage rescue and a lot more. This could do really well if it's pulled off right and not just a general standard shooter.

Well this information was from the leaked game play trailer that had been taken down so I cannot link it to let you watch, the trailer was for internal and several months old so it could be all changed by now. Either way if it's done right it will be on my want list this year and hopefully I can rope a few friends in to play. Let's end this post with one more game that was announced a few weeks back and of course that was the new Pokemon games.

Although they technically not really new since it's the remake of Ruby and Sapphire, no game play has been shown just yet though. Going to have to wait until E3 I'm guessing for that along with any information of the game since Nintendo have only shown the cover art and that the release is November 2014 worldwide. I really thought we would be seeing the third instalment for X and Y since every other game set has one, well technically Black/White had a third instalment split but it was still the the third for that series.

So there we have it for this post, two great games lined up for this year and a possible new type of Battlefield from EA this year that could be amazing if it's done right. Could be a great E3 this year!! just hope no more push backs to 2015's with the game launches.

March Madness

Let the gaming madness begin! and what better way with Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. Seriously addictive again to say it's online only and does not have many maps to play on. Never thought I would see the day that I could not put down a multiplayer game. Look for a fun shooter that does not take the genre serious then check it out, it's a blast and you will want to spend unlocking all the customisation features for your characters. Not tried out the co-op mode "Garden Ops" yet but hopefully soon, hoping that will be just has good has "Gardens and Graveyards".

Anyway it's March finally and we kicking off the gamers Christmas where we will see a ton of new releases every week for the month. Started off with Thief and Plants vs Zombies for me last week, I did not pick up Thief since I'm just not sure on the game. Something is putting me off it and plus I really can see it going into deal of the week in a week or two so I'm waiting for now. Back to the topic of new releases, next week sees South Park Stick of Truth finally releasing, it's been a long...very long..so long...wait to get this game but it's going to be worth. You only got to see the trailers and the play through of the first chapter that's gone live to see how great it is.

Does not end though, oh no for me there is a game week for the next month and my next one will be of course Titan Fall. Really annoyed because I did get a beta invite and was sick for the entire event (yes to sick to play games, dang man flu!). But I know this will be a worth while purchase since everyone I know is raving on about it and saying how good it is.

Week after that sees inFamous Second Son coming out and this game is still a maybe for me. It does look amazing but I really would like to see a little more gameplay before I decide if it's a day one purchase. Finally ending the month off is Phoenix Wright x Professor Layton for the 3DS, a game I've been praying to release in the UK for a very long time. Big fan of both so having them combine into one great story has got me bouncing off the wall with excitement.

There is one more game to add to this list and that's the Diablo 3 expansion, I know it's near the end of March but I cannot remember the date. Still unsure if I want to pick it up yet since I do want to get the PS4 version when that hits and it's meant to have the expansion included with the main game. Tough choice since the PC version is doing a great collectors edition and I have pretty much all the Blizzard games in collectors format for the PC. Will get back to you once I've decided on what I will do.

P.S. Lego Hobbit at the start of April as well, I really hope they don't add any more games since it's going to be very hard to decide what to get first.

Pokemon Shiny Event

Folks don't forget that in the UK right now is the shiny legendary event, I say this now because the first Pokemon is about to end on Friday so it's your last chance.

Shiny Dialga is the current Pokemon you can gain right now and then on Friday it will switch over to Palkia, later on and finally Giratina. Not sure how to get your hands on these Pokemon well pop into your local GAME retail store and bring your copy of Pokemon White/Black/White 2/Black 2 along with your DS/3DS.

Just boot the game up and load up mystery gift then check out the wireless connection, all the stores should have a DS in store distributing the Pokemon over a wi-fi channel. It's that simple so don't miss out while you still can get them, don't forget the chances of getting a shiny in the game is something like 1 in 8,000+.

P.S. Gamestop in North America is running this event as well but using a different times and dates so check out your local store for details. Same for any other countries around the world, check out your local major retailer for information or serebii.net will have the answer for you.

Pokemon Event and X/Y Preorder Bonus

There as been quite a bit of information released for Pokemon over the last few days so I thought it be wise to do a post around it in case someone misses it. First off there is a giant Pokemon event happening soon where you can download three shiny legendary Pokemon for Black 2 and White 2.

For those in the UK it's a GAME event and all stores will be taking part (that I can see), it starts 30th August with Shiny Dialga and will end on 12th September. Then the day after 13th September you will be able to download Shiny Palkia up until 26th September. Finally on the 27th September Shiny Giratina will be up for download until th 12th October.

As you can see this all tied into the release of Pokemon X and Y, they have also announced in the UK that GAME will have a exclusive pre-order bonus. A Pokeball 3DS cartridge holder which can be seen below.

Very cool and I better start working on finishing Black 2 ready for X and Y, think I've got 6 of my 8 badges so far so not long now. One last thing was mentioned last night on the GAME twitter account that over the next few weeks there will be some Pokemon news worth checking back for. Really hoping it will be the announcement of the themed 3DS XL's that Japan is getting. Now before I go I have posted the dates for the North America download below which is being run by GAMESTOP, check with your local store to make sure they taking part.

New Pokemon 3DS XL Consoles

About a week ago it was announced in Japan that there was two new special edition 3DS XL's coming out for the Pokemon X and Y launch. Of course at the time no pictures appeared and since then I've been keeping my eyes open for them. Well they arrived yesterday and my god they look awesome, out the two I have to say the Gold one is my favourite. But if I can get the funds together I would get both of them for my collection.

Just look at the amazing artwork on it, I love the forest and cloud effects on both sides. At this point in time both consoles are only for Japan so far, waiting for confirmation for a UK/Europe/USA launch. This Gold one can only be ordered from the Pokemon Centres in Japan.

I was a bit worried at first when I saw this blue thanks to the white outlines, I thought it be like the Fire Emblem or Pokemon White DSI's where the lines was too thin so the picture does not stand out. But I don't think I need to worry from the looks of it, I love the black on the Y Pokemon and I really need to learn the new names. This one is going to be available from all major retailers in Japan and both come with a digital copy of the new Pokemon game, although one will have Y and the other X. Pretty sweet if you want both then you can have both copies of the game as well.

Anyway I've got my fingers crossed that these beautiful machines will arrive in the UK, would love to have one of them or even both for my collection to go along side my Pikachu and Toad console.

One More Special Edition Mii

That's right folks another special edition Mii is up for downloading on your 3DS, this time it's Hayashida and again just pop on over to the Mii Plaza. This should be the last one since E3 is ending today but you never know.

If you not downloaded any before today then it is worth it, make sure you connected to the wi-fi and pop over to Mii Plaza on your 3DS. The special edition Mii will unlock an achievement if you not met one before, in Puzzle swap they will have all the pieces so it's a great way to get those missing rare ones. Finally they also automatically level 5 in StreetPass quest so you have a nice warrior to progress with.

Anyway I'm off again to go play some games and watch the Simpson's, don't worry I've not forgotten the E3 posts just having a bit of writers block with them.

Another Special Mii

Very quick note folks but you can get another special edition Mii character on the 3DS through spotpass. Just like yesterday this could be a one day only deal so just connect to the Internet with your 3DS and pop on over to the Mii Plaza to get a visit from Konno.

Great thing about the special edition Mii's is they have all the puzzle pieces unlocked for Puzzle swap, great way to get your missing rare ones. Plus they also automatically level 5 for StreetPass Quest so a nice advantage there.

So don't miss out and got to say cheers to Dragaknight my mate for making me aware both times of this.

E3 Downloads and Freebies

Right folks not sure how long these will be up for so make sure to download them today while you have the chance. First up on the 3DS you can get a special Mii character through spot pass, make sure you connected to your wi-fi and load up StreetPass Mii Plaza. Might have to leave your 3DS on for a while to pick up the spotpass first though. Anyway you get Iwata dressed up in a Luigi outfit for your trouble and of course if you not had a special Mii you will unlock the achievement as well, added bonus is that he has all the puzzle pieces so if you missing a super rare one here is your chance.

Now for a freebie, you can get Fable 3 on Xbox Live for free right now! not sure if this is a mistake or not but just search it on xbox live. There are cases that you have to click "add points" option to get it to appear up as a free purchase download. Great game just a shame the ending was not up to par with the rest of the game but still worth a download, cannot complain about it being free.

Phoenix Wright 5 Coming to the West

This news made my day the other night when Capcom finally confirmed the newest Phoenix Wright will be coming to North America and Europe. The Ace Attorney series on the DS are brilliant and I would buy a DS just to play them, although I will hang my head in shame since I still need to finish the third one in the series Trials and Tribulations plus the fourth one I never started Apollo Justice. Not to mention the spin off series as well around Miles Edgeworth. So yeah I better dig them out and start playing them to see how the story ends ready for this one, check out the trailer below for the teaser.



So far Capcom have confirmed it will launch some time in Autumn and that it will only be digitally released. Unsure about that since Nintendo in the past sucked when it came to downloads, no transfers and if you console went faulty you had to re buy the games on your new one. I have heard things have changed since then but still left a bitter taste though. But Phoenix Wright is amazing so I will be buying it anyway no matter if it is a digital release.

Seriously cannot wait to play this! I did tell you guys we will be seeing quite a few new games this year. Of course I was not expecting to see this though, this is just the icing on top of the cake for me and in 3D as well! oh man I'm too hyper now.

Deoxys Pokemon Event Update

Morning folks,
If you remember a week or two ago I did a post about a upcoming download event for Pokemon where you get Deoxys. Well it went live yesterday and I nearly forgot, anyway serebii reminded me and put up some more details about it.

First up it's for the English games of Pokemon White 2 and Black 2 only, the event will end on the 31st May. Just connect your console up to the wi-fi and download it through the mystery gift system like normal.

The Deoxys is level 100 and holds the life orb plus it comes with the following four moves:
Nasty Plot
Dark Pulse
Recover
Psycho Boost

Sounds like an awesome addition to any ones team so yeah make sure not to miss out and keep an eye on serebii for any more future events. I will post about any that do appear but Serebii is the best place for all things Pokemon.

Deoxys Pokemon Event

Starting 8th May and ending on the 31st May you will able to download Deoxys for the first time on Pokemon White and Black or White 2 and Black 2.

This is for the English versions of the games so North American and most of Europe, not much details have been announced yet on the Pokemon except it will be level 100. To get it just simply hook up your console to your wi-fi and download it by the start up menu like in the past.

Keep your eyes on serebii.net for more information like move stats etc once they announced, I will update once I find out as well but usually serebii.net is the best placed for Pokemon news.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies

Afternoon folks,
Well it seems the 3DS is getting a bit of love this week, with Pokemon announced the other day it seems the date for the new Professor Layton was announced for Japan which was 28th February 2013. Really hoping we will get to see it this Christmas like the past ones but I'm bit gutted that this will be last of Herschel Layton, wonder if they will do a spin of series with one of the other characters.

Anyway the date was announced a few days ago but today a teaser trailer as gone up for it, it is in Japanese but it gives you a clue of what to expect. Hmm ok for some reason I cannot find the trailer on youtube so here is the link to VG24/7 article which has the trailer.

But I did find this other trailer which I'm assuming was the older announcement trailer which is English subtitled.




Either way I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion to this story and cannot wait for this game, fingers crossed for this Christmas.

Pokemon X and Y Announcement

Evening folks,
Very shocked to see what I hoped for announced today, finally a Pokemon game set for the 3DS. If you not seen the announcement then take ten minutes to watch the full Nintendo direct video (link here), if you not got the time the game trailer is just below which is only a few minutes long.



Graphics look amazing and I'm excited to see what the new Pokemon will be, the two new legendary Pokemon look awesome though. The only problem I've got with the new games is the release date, October is ages away! swear I'm going to be like a little kid "is it October yet? is it October yet?". Of course it leaves plenty of time to make lots of announcements about new Pokemon and battle features.

Pokemon Event: Genesect

Morning folks,
I really need to get back into "sleep ins" because getting up at 7am with no work for hours is just killing me. Anyway since I'm up I thought I would start with getting all these posts up I've been promising myself for the last month, so first up is the Pokemon White 2 and Black 2 download event for Genesect.

This is the first time anyone has been able to get this Pokemon (legally), the event is through the normal Wi-fi channel so just connect your DS. The event ends on November 12th for America and Europe so don't leave it too late to get it. The Pokemon is level 15 and will activate a special event at the P2 lab in Pokemon White/Black/White 2/Black 2, it will also come with the move set Solar Beam/Signal Beam/Techno Blast/Magnet Bomb.

Well I did think that was it for the Pokemon event but I just checked the official site for the Europe end date and found a few C-Gear skins events are live on the Global Link site. So let's begin with three new Pokemon dolls for your dream house (Black Kyurem, White Kyurem and Meloetta), in game you get a mail from the Pokemon Fan club this month giving you the password. Make sure to check your club mailbox for that password since I cannot find one on the net so I'm guessing it's one time use instead of the normal generic ones.

Next up is a Pikachu doll and the password is somewhere on the Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 website, for the UK the password is RAPDRA (if you live elsewhere just pop to www.pokemon.com/BlackWhite2 then go to news).

Keldeo Ordinary form C-Gear skin is also up for the original Black and White games, password is KELDEOCGEARBW for the UK. Again just pop to your local Pokemon web page and look at the news stories to find a post with the passwords. There is also a Keldeo Resolute form for the new games White 2 and Black 2, again the password should be in the same news post but for the UK it's KELDEOCGEARBW2.

Important: Make sure to register your new games to the global link, I forgot to register my Black 2 so all the events related to that game would not appear until I had done it.

Finally there is a Halloween C-Gear for Black 2 and White 2, it's a Pumpkin Pikachu and it does not need a password just click the button to get it. So that's it folks so make sure not to miss out on any of these and the list of ends dates are below.

Keldeo and Genesect Events

Morning folks,
Thought it would be a good time to update the event posts since one of the Pokemon events is live and the second one was announced a few weeks back.

First up Keldeo is currently live at your local GAME and Gamestation stores, this event will run until 11th October 2012 (for other European countries check out serebii.net for information). It's a level 15 Pokemon and it's carrying the item PP Max, also it as several mini in game events.

In Black and White you can teach it the move Secret Sword by taking it to the Moors of Icirrus (must have Cobalion, Virizion and Terrakion in your party). By getting this move you can also activate Keldeo Resolute form when it's traded over to Black and White 2.

So make sure to pop in store to get this Pokemon, oh I almost forgot! you can get the Pokemon by going in store and activating Mystery gift on your game. It's downloaded through the wireless section but if it does not work check with a staff member that their cartridge is distributing because sometimes it can be forgotten to be turned on in the morning.

Genesect will not be a in store event like Keldeo since most of the rumours was pointing towards that, instead it will be just a normal Wi-fi event. So far only the dates have been confirmed and that's 12th October until 12th November 2012, this is for Black 2 and White 2 by the way and not the original games.
