You see two sides to the story, Decepticons are first showing the events leading up to the end of the war and the reason why they leave their world. Then you switch over to Autobots to see their side at the end and why everything happened. Sorry the explanation is rubbish but I don't want to do any spoilers.
Overall I did enjoy it but as I said at the start there are several faults I hated, boss fights lack ammo and health which can mean several deaths. One fight I found myself going around the room in vehicle form with thrusters on full to dodge attacks while waiting for health, if I get hit it's over and the painful 10 minute fight starts over again.
It's worse on hard mode since you receive more damage, in fact I turned it off half way through the Autobots campaign. I was doing a protect end mission which nearly broke my controller. Allies do barely any damage and the enemy just ignore them, Ratchet (who you are protecting) is sitting in the middle of the room in full open. If he goes down you have several second window to revive him, of course usually there is six enemy's around him blocking your attempt meaning end game. Maybe an extra checkpoint in the last wave would had helped for the lack of health/ammo.
As I said it needs more ammo and health drop's in the boss fights, and better ally A.I to make this game great. But I would still recommend this game to anyone to give a try, I did enjoy it when I was not doing the boss events. So I give it a 9 out of 10
