Review: Megamind

Story
Takes place just after the film with Megamind being praised as the hero and asked what will he do next? well he doesn't really get a choice since Doom Syndicate as appeared on scene. They break into his secret lair stealing both his and Metro Man's DNA along with most of his stuff, then go on a crime spree. It's up to you to stop them and blue Tighten.

Controls
Very simple controls, jump, attack and interact. In fact it was the only thing going good for the game is they did not mess up the controls, nothing was buggy or laggy it was all responsive. So well done there

Length
Two hours and it's done, saying it's short is an understatement. The only reason I did not give this 0 marks is because the game is the right length, any longer it would be horrible to play. There are 10 levels and they take roughly 10-30 minutes, mostly take out a group of bad guys, interact to move on and done. Every three levels will end with a boss and they only take 2 minutes roughly to beat then the last 10th level is the final boss, say five minutes roughly.

Graphics
For this type of game the graphics are ok, it's what they should be really for art style. Would be nice if a bit more detail was done on the background view, for example when you above the highway the passing cars are basic. Only reason this did not get full marks was because there was no "wow that looked cool", it was just simple and that is really all I can say about the graphics to be honest.

Gameplay
I was not a fan of the movie and to be honest this is worst, the story really ... don't think I can describe it, it's that bad. You got this group of villains tearing the city apart, when you introduced to the bosses he talks like we meant to know them but nothing is mention anywhere about them. You cannot fail the levels because Minion is constantly talking to you on what to do, I've lost count on how many times it was telling me on how to jump over gap. I know it's a kid game but even my little cousin would get annoyed with this.
Boss fights are way too easy! dodge attacks, press a button and that's 33% of the health of the boss gone. Overall it was ok to play and least it was short

Last Thoughts
Want a quick 1,000g or platinum trophy? this is the game for you but would recommend renting it since it's not worth the money. Want something for your kids, still would say try something different because 2 hours of game play will not keep them entertained and with the lack of a real story added in too I cannot see them enjoying it. Feel sorry for people who paid full price for 2 hours of game play, so it scores a 5 out of 10 and that's being generous.
