Once again you taking on the role as Nathan Hale, the game picks up where the first one ended with you been recruited to join the Sentinel Program. A group of infected Humans that use inhibitors to control the chimera virus.
The first level will shown you what happened after the first game ended then the rest of the game takes place two years later where the Chimera have begun the invasion of America on both the east and west coasts.
Controls
Not much to say on the controls to be honest, nothing that massive different from the first game. They did feel more responsive which is always a plus in a fire fight, overall though nothing bad or massive good to report. They where just the way you needed them to be.
Length
The length of the game was pretty good, according to my ratpr account it took me roughly nine hours to complete this game on normal difficulty. To be honest I think it was the perfect length, I did not feel it needed any more or less, worth every penny.
Graphics
Massive improvement on the first one, but then again I did just only play the first one a couple of months ago so I probably would notice the massive difference. But anyway everything seemed more detailed, smoother and just ... beautiful. Wading through the water levels and seeing the ripples or going through the undergrowth of a forest every bit of the game was done right. I was most impressed with the gun animations like the spine of the bullseye that moves on its own and especially the Chimera character skins, darker and more detailed. Overall the game looked amazing! nothing like standing on a cliff and being awed while watching a huge Chimera battle fleet going past.
Gameplay
Gameplay section for me is, did I enjoy it? or did I find it a huge grind. With Resistance I enjoyed it a lot, I did find myself getting annoyed with a few things (if you read my Daily Grind then you will know all about that) but to be honest most gamers do, couple of unlucky deaths will always annoy you.
But the game was overall great, not once have I regretted buying this game or playing it. The bosses where amazing and kept you on your toes. Each level made you think about the strategy you going to use, a massive alien invasion as started with an endless supply of bad guys so using the environment to your advantage and managing your ammo is always key!.
The game story was good and kept me interested for all the hours I played and I do want to go back and finish getting all the collectibles so I can just see that little more in depth story to what was going on.
Last Thoughts
Worth every penny and minute/hour that spent on it and I am now looking forward to getting Resistance 3 which will be a day one purchase. Recommend it to anyone who is a fan of shooters and a good sci-fi story.
